Yoga isn’t just something you do each day for a certain amount of time to get in better shape or feel good. Yoga, in essence, is something you take with you wherever you go. It is philosophies, traditions, perspectives, and physical and spiritual practice to support your mental abilities. It reveals to you what you need at that moment. It is always there for you, and like you, it is never the same in each new moment. Yoga is about feeling yourself melt into an asana, but it’s also about melting chocolate for your favorite dessert, sharing a family meal, attending a sacred ceremony, relishing a glass of wine and good conversation with friends, or feeling the round, cool stones under your bare feet, dipped into a cool stream after a walk through a peaceful forest.
